| 1943 Military B-29 Bomber Flare Gun and Military Weapon |
| Used in B-29 bombers to shoot flares into the air from inside the plane allowed pilots to shoot flares in a variety of colors to signal others in case of radio silence. Other uses included shooting certain colors upon landing to tell the ground that they have injured people or the plane is making an emergency landing.
This near mint example of the 1943 military gun was rarely used on the ground but in the event the B-29 Bomber was hit and had to crash land in enemy territory, the guns were also used for military use. The guns were made to fire projectiles as well and when I bought this it actually included a 40mm highly explosive, explode on impact round. (same as in the movie SCARFACE when he said "Say Hello To My Little Friend") and blew up the door to his office.
The gun can also be fitted with an attachment that lets you shoot 12 gauge shot gun shells. Instructions said recoil is so strong that both hands are mandatory when firing ammo or mortar rounds.
And I thought the guys with the 50 caliber pistols were tough.. OUCH
